Spokane High School

Building our legacy one student at a time

Principal Page

Dear Students, Parents, and Community Members,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Spokane High School!

It is an honor to serve as the principal of Spokane High School and to work alongside such an outstanding group of students, families, staff, and community members. Each new school year brings exciting opportunities for growth, achievement, and building meaningful relationships, and I look forward to all we will accomplish together.

At Spokane High School, our mission is to prepare every student for success beyond graduation—whether that path leads to college, career, military service, or the workforce. We remain committed to providing a safe, engaging, and challenging learning environment where students are encouraged to pursue academic excellence, develop strong character, and become responsible citizens.

As we begin this school year, our expectations continue to center around three core principles:

  • Be Safe
  • Be Respectful
  • Be Responsible

These values guide everything we do and help create a positive school culture where every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

This year, we will continue our focus on rigorous instruction, student engagement, attendance, career and college readiness, and creating opportunities for students to excel in academics, fine arts, career and technical education, athletics, and service to others. We are proud of our students' accomplishments and remain committed to helping each one reach his or her full potential.

Parents and community members play a vital role in the success of our school. I encourage you to stay involved by attending school events, supporting our extracurricular programs, volunteering when possible, joining our booster organizations, and maintaining open communication with our staff. Your partnership makes a tremendous difference in the lives of our students.

Thank you for your continued support of Spokane High School. Together, we will make the 2026–2027 school year one filled with achievement, growth, and Owl Pride.

If I can ever be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Respectfully,

Don Gimlen
